About Grazia Studios Photography

Fernando (Fer) Mercado is a photojournalistic wedding, portrait, and lifestyle photographer in the Chicago area. He has a passion for international people and photography. He loves trying new culinary treats and for sure enjoys good Fair Trade tea… sorry, not your typical coffee guy. His passion for photography has also lead him into many diverse experiences. Shooting for weddings, babies, families, or fashion events have been among his last jobs in Chicago. He enjoys capturing people’s life through the lens, making sure that personality and style are well combined in digital art. Candid journalistic shots is how he would define his style. He cares much for good expressions, background, lighting, composition, and all you would like to see in your photographs. So, if you like what you see in his work please don’t hesitate to say something, ask questions, or -even better, book him (me)! ~Fer

Grazia Studios Weddings

November 30th, 2011

The last few months I have been really busy expanding my business from a photography business service to something beyond this. The idea is to provide better and more options for my customers. This is very exciting to me. Very soon we will launching a new and complete marketing campaign that should enhance your experience with Grazia Studios.

This however, has kept me from doing some of the things I enjoy – sharing my work with you. Due to timing and this being a busy season as well (holiday fun!), I would like to share some of my wedding photography work with you. So please take a look at these photos, they are from some great couples I have had the chance to meet and work with.

Happy Holiday Season!

Summer Family Time

October 25th, 2011

This summer -and fall- have been really busy and fun. Part of that has shown in my absence posting photos for you.

Here is a family that I love. Their charisma and love show in their personalities and photos. I really had a good time with my friends Whatoff and Adair. It’s great to see families together.

Brennan

July 3rd, 2011

I met baby Brennan when he was a day old at the hospital. He was an amazing happy baby since birth. 6 months later he’s grown full of energy, smiles, and the same happy spirit. His mom, Stephanie, likes to brag about how blessed she is to have such a cute and good baby. I think she’s right. Thanks guys!

First yoga session in the park… gotta love the city ;)

Like some grass anyone?

Babies’ learning to walk, quite a big step in life. You go Brennan!

Johnmark and Jessica

May 4th, 2011

Johnmark once said to me: “yeah,  we’re trying to figure out if we are meant to be together” -reason being, he lived in Indiana and Jessica was in Chicago. After a few months he moved to Chicago, and then proposed to Jessica, she said yes.

Needless to say, Johnmark and Jessica are good friends of mine. They are a great match. They are both super layback persons. They have a heart for helping children and youth. Jessica works with underserved inner city children in the North Side of Chicago. And Johnmark, well, he has a tough job. He works with youth that have had some challenging behaviors. All to say that, J&J have very warm-loving hearts.

When we did their photoshoot, you could clearly see that in the way they interacted with each other. Great personalities, creative, warm, and of course, super happy. They love the city and parks, so we went to one of Chicago’s favorites spots: Lincoln Park.

The “Turtle Dome” (officially called: People’s Gas Education Pavillion). One of my favorite structures in Lincoln Park.

The Great City of Chicago. Cool city for great people!
